C 253986 (hereinafter “we”), protects all personal data provided to it by its customers, potential customers, or other persons against misuse and processes it in accordance with current legislation.

We would like to inform you about certain rules and information in connection with European and Czech personal data protection legislation (GDPR and Act No. 110/2019 Coll., on the Processing of Personal Data), as the security of your personal data is our priority.

In this document, you will find basic and clear information about what personal data we process, the legal grounds for processing, the specific purposes, to whom the data may be disclosed, and what rights you have in connection with the processing of your personal data.

  1. What personal data do we process?
  2. a) Identification data, meaning first name and last name, and possibly also username and password;
    b) Contact data, meaning email address, phone number, and postal address;
    c) Your purchasing preferences, derived from your ratings of our goods and services or data about goods or services you viewed on our website;
    d) Order data, meaning information about goods and services you ordered, delivery and payment methods including bank account number, and communication related to your orders, including complaints;
    e) Cookies: When you visit our website, we store small files (cookies) on your device and subsequently read them, usually with your consent. If you do not give consent, we process only technical cookies necessary for the functioning of the website.   1. If you register or place an order in our e-shop, we process your identification and contact data and order data for the purpose of fulfilling our contractual obligations (delivery of ordered products), without your consent.
  2. In case of registration or purchase, we also process your identification and contact data, order data, account data (if you have an account), data about goods and services purchased, and data about your behavior on our website based on our legitimate interest (without your consent), for the purpose of creating personalized offers and targeted advertising displayed on our website. Our legitimate interest is the ability to offer you relevant goods and services.

For example: if you browse children’s books, we may display similar products on your next visit and tailor offers based on your preferences.

You have the right to object to this processing.

  1. Communication regarding customer rights (including complaints)

For handling complaints, contract withdrawals, claims, or other rights, we process personal data including name, address, phone number, email, purchase data, and possibly call recordings.

This processing is based either on legal obligations or our legitimate interest in proving claims in administrative or legal proceedings.

  1. Offers, targeted advertising, satisfaction surveys

Unless you opt out, we may use your contact data to send satisfaction surveys and marketing offers via email, SMS, phone, or post, in accordance with applicable laws.

We process data about your orders, website activity, and newsletter interactions to create personalized offers and advertising.

  1. Newsletters and marketing communications

If you subscribe to newsletters, we process your email address based on your consent to send marketing emails and communications.

Your email will only be processed after you confirm your subscription. If not confirmed, it will be deleted.

If you are a regular customer, we may also process your name, email, and phone number based on legitimate interest to send offers related to your purchases.

We may process your personal data to enforce our legal claims (e.g. unpaid debts) based on legitimate interest.

We also process data to comply with legal obligations, especially accounting and tax regulations, and for inspections by public authorities.

We act as the data controller and determine the purposes and means of processing.

We primarily process data you provide directly when placing orders, creating an account, communicating with us, or browsing our website.

We retain personal data for:

  1. a) the duration of your consent (or until withdrawn);
    b) 3 years from your last purchase (for marketing);
    c) 4 years (for complaints and legal claims);
    d) 3 years after termination of book club membership;
    e) 10 years (for accounting and tax obligations), or 2 years for other regulatory purposes.

Right to rectification – to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
